“Abebi , Abebi, Abebi!!!. Abebi, please sit and listen to me, I want to teach you some principles that will help you in life. Abebi omo mi, please pay attention to these words of advice and write them in your heart”.
That was the hundredth and one time mama had sat me down to teach me these principles of life. These principles she held dearly till her final breath. My mama had always been a godly woman, she would say to me; Abebi, Be contented with whatever you have. The bible says, ‘But godliness with contentment is great gain’ (1Timothy 6:6). Never covet because all that glitters is not gold.
Abebi, Watch the friends you keep. The bible says, ‘Bad company corrupts good manners’ (1 Corinthians 15:33).Birds of the same feather flocks together.
Abebi, Always be obedient, the bible says ‘Obedience is better than sacrifice’ (1 Samuel 15:22). Obey now so you won’t regret later.
Abebi, Learn to be humble, never give place to pride. The bible also says, ‘God brings down the proud and saves the humble’ (James 4:6).
Abebi, Never stop be good to others, do not render evil for evil. The bible says, ‘See that none render evil for evil unto any man, but follow that which is good, both among yourselves and unto all men’ (1 Thessalonians 5:15).
Abebi, Be diligent in whatever you do. Keep up the hardwork. The bible says, ‘Seest thou man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings and he shall not stand before mean men’ (Proverbs 22:29)
These principles of life I applied, I passed unto my children and am also teaching you Temilola, my granddaughter. Take heed to my words of advice. A word is enough for the wise.
