To start with, I did like to shock you by mentioning that you need a bit of fear to live a life beyond fair. An average individual detests fear and chases it off as soon as it appears. That can cost a lot. I will explain to you why you need a bit of fear to stay alive and hale. What is the fear? Fear actually means to be frightened by someone or something. Culture, school, family even religion has black painted FEAR so much that we are now blind to the good sides of it. Believe me, being frightened may be an undesirable thing but that feeling is an emotional resource that should be well utilized.
Fear has quite a number of advantages, however, I will be discussing just three:
1.Sensitivity: Fear is an indicator of potential happenings. It is a feeling that triggers consciousness and alertness. The fear hormone is secreted by adrenaline, which helps us to think wide and fast. It causes us to be very observant, prudent and helps us to keep a record. When you feel fear, you unconsciously activate a part of you that will begin to work as security personnel for you. More like an internal danger alarm. Meaning, you begin to be more rational and deliberate. Well, if you ask me, I did say that’s a good one.
2. Clarity and Focus: Fear is an initiator of clarity. That is to say, fear raises some questions about the issue at hand. Especially when it has to do with one’s life generally, it opens your mind to get to know what exactly is the most important. And when the questions are well answered, then focus is inevitable. One can not help but strive to put in as much energy as possible to get the best out of that which is most important.
3. Love and Light: Have you ever wondered why family stick through thick and thin. It’s because they have learnt to give comfort to one another. They have learnt to share their fears and deal with it as one. Fear helps you to see your void thereby creating room for another to fill it up. It helps you socialize and by so doing you feel light. All because you can share your thought with another. Fear makes you mingle because you know you can’t do it all. You can’t keep safe all by yourself.
These are just a few of the positive effects of fear amongst others. Fear can be bad but it has its own good parts. What matters the most is our perspective towards fear when it erupts. Do we give in to depression or pay attention to the part fear is calling our attention to? Do we throw everything all away or be specific about the need of the moment? Do we run to hide or hug our families and friends to feel light? The ball is ever within our legs, how we play it is the question. If this blessed you, do well to share. The comment section is open for you to air your experience as well.
