“Your worry will amount to something, keep at it”. That would have actually been my honest advice for you but its a lie. Hence, take this truth even if it’s coming to you so cheaply. I know how difficult it can be to hold on to the tinest of hopes. How hard it is to hang on when everything seems clashing and falling. It is often perceived that one who doesn’t worry is probably carefree. But no, that’s not the case. It is those that worry that do little or nothing. This is because when you worry, you focus on the possibility of a negative outcome, you doubt if hope can work.
What is worry?
Worry is a disturbance of your peace of mind which births mental discomfort. While a worrywart is someone who worries excessively. Worry leaves a lasting adverse effect on your body, mind and even soul. The act of always thinking about something so much that it hurts and causes you stress is bad. It reduces the tendency of your medical health, it shortens your happiness because what you often brood on is negative. Worry amongst other things also reduces your self-esteem. You begin to see your weaknesses in capital letters, it ruins your joy. Contrary to solving an existing problem, you only succeed in wallowing in self-pity. That’s another problem if you ask me.
A worrywart is his own Lord, he thinks he can fix everything so he tries to fix them before they even happen. This is a bad attitude. Worry shows lack of faith in God to supply all your needs. Worry is not just an enemy of your body but your soul. It is a practical way of saying “I am the Lord here and yet I don’t know what to do“. It rules out the place of God.
Truth be told, worry is naturally part of humanity, but a man that wants to be productive and happy must learn to deal with it. You can not run out of issues to worry about but you must learn to hope for the better.
Putting your mind at rest and settling down to analyze what exactly you can do. If you must move forward, you must learn to value your peace of mind over things you can’t change. It’s fine to worry, but don’t worry for too long, avoid being a worrywart. Worrywarts worry all their lives but those who worry less have learned the act of staying happy through the storm till there comes calmness. They are the real champion.
While your hope may take longer and seem impossible be sure God got you. He doesn’t want you to become a worrywart. Hang on to hope, worry less. See what Proverbs 13:12 has to say:
Hope deferred makes the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life”.
Hang on, your result will be worth the wait. If this has blessed you, do well to share.
