I was going through my WhatsApp status this morning and I saw a friend’s post with the caption young forever. Honestly, I tried to ignore it but the thought wouldn’t let me, so, I thought to share this with everyone.
Truthfully, she had a different motive. The caption was probably used to illustrate the fact that she still looked youthful and presentable. However, can we be young forever? This is a major problem so many people out there are battling with and whether we like to admit it or not, each day, our number of years on earth decreases.
Ask yourself! Do I look the same way I did this time last year? Whatever your response is, judge! This topic is peculiar to the female folk and that’s because they detest being told they look elderly. You’d hear them say call me a lady, who are we deceiving? I wonder! Don’t bother yourself wondering why I’m this blunt, I’m a woman and this concerns me too.
You might say it really means nothing but these things we profess have a way of affecting our disposition either positively or negatively. Why do you think older people try so hard to dress, talk, act… like the younger ones? Nobody is saying you shouldn’t look good but how do we explain the case of a 55-year-old man sagging his pants? This is what our society has been renovated to.
My point exactly?
• We grow every day, our belief system should grow too. In a bid to form “youngee” as some people will call it, don’t relinquish your mental maturity.
• Time really doesn’t wait for anyone, so, don’t be deceived by all the heresies flying out there. Live your life as though you’d go tomorrow (scary, yeah?) What legacy would you leave behind???
• Stay alive to your obligations and don’t blame anyone for your failures.
• As much as you strive to remain a slay mama or papa, have the heart of a child (simplicity, innocence, pure love, etc.)
Have a great day!
