Have you ever asked, what really is the essence of life?
Why are we living?
Why are we hustling?
Why do we love?
Why do we care?
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, no hours, no days.
It will not matter whether you’re beautiful or brilliant.
It will definitely not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
All your hopes, plans, ambitions will expire.
Your grudges, resentments, frustration will finally disappear.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
Even your gender and your skin colour will be totally irrelevant.
The true essence of life, the true essence of living is not what you brought but what you built.
It is not what you got but what you gave.
It is not what you learned but what you taught.
The true essence of life is not your success but your significance.
It is not your competence but your character.
It is not how many people you knew but how many feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.
