As we sojourn through life, we encounter numerous struggles enough to make us crash. Let us not forget the trials that come with certain phases of our lives. How can we ignore the injuries our hearts have sustained, both old and young? We still scale through and come out strong whether hurt or not.
Both words (pleasure & pain) are felt by all, but only one is palatable. We do everything we can to enjoy the former but we have failed to realize that the latter helps us evolve into better beings. How do you become fierce if all you do is have fun? I wonder! Do not get me wrong, pain is not something to be wished for but when it comes like a thief in the night, what can be done? Do you chicken out or embrace it by extracting the lessons it comes with? Take this, it is inevitable.
How do we explain the pleasure that is embedded in pain? After all, it is usually accompanied by tears, sorrow and disappointment. The bitter truth is after beating yourself up and sulking, everything remains the same. You give it the opportunity to celebrate its victory over you each time you get knocked down.
Look ahead, there lies a brighter side of life. The beauty of it all is embedded in the quote: there is light at the end of the tunnel. Each time you find yourself in one situation or the other, ponder on the glory that awaits you and smile knowing your joy is right in front of you.
Refuse to be weighed down by your obstacles, stand tall and stay focused. Ever heard of “no pain, no gain“? I am sure whoever thought of this discovered the beauty of strife. Something must be experienced to enjoy another and some treasures have to be forgone to swim in pleasure…
