Mere mortals, helpless and frail! Created by a just God to dominate and subdue, ignorantly, we were blinded by the prince of this world (Satan) with a thick veil separating us from our maker. Before our creation, He provided all we need to live comfortably and even assured us of a better life in Him, Genesis 1:26, then God said: let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground. Despite all these, we still make Him feel He comes second in all that concerns us. Whereas, He has placed us first in His heart.
Have you ever wondered why you are still in one spot? I would give you an answer! It is your inability to let go and let Him. I know the question on your mind right now is: “is it that easy?“. Let me ask you this: how much have you achieved on your own? How far have you gone since you shut Him out? You know, it is easy to imagine we can do things without His instructions and guidance, but in the real sense, we do not exist without Him. I would like to bring this to your notice: you live for Him, you breathe his breath and you were even created in His image. Ever wondered why He did not create you an animal? Well, it is because He had already predestined that you would live to show His glory and splendor, Romans 8:30, for those he predestined, He also called, those He called, those He called, He also justified and those He justified, He glorified. Now, each time you fail to acknowledge Him and submit to His will, you disregard His supremacy in your life and end up in the midst of vipers.
Over the years, I tried to have things my way, I made decisions for Him and thereafter would invite Him into my already concluded plans, How preposterous! In my folly, I would rejoice and believe He had my back; it never came to my knowledge that he permitted me to do those things because He wanted me to pick a particular lesson. Guess what, eventually, I did! just when my plans are about to be actualized, He would turn things around to prove His supremacy and of course, I would be left with no choice but to let Him have His way. In the long run, I realized I had been deceiving myself. John 16:13, but when He the spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, He will not speak on His own, He will speak only what He hears and He will tell you what is yet to come.
I learned over time that God will never force things on us. Though He is “all knowing and powerful”, He would only participate in the affairs of those that make themselves available. When you fail to let Him in, He moves to the next available person. You should not expect blessings from the source when you are so far away from it. As a kid, my parents always told me this story I would share with you. A man built a duplex and invited God in. He shut Him in a room on the ground floor and asked Him to remain there, after all, He was in the house. One night, robbers came and beat Him mercilessly, to His surprise, those on the ground floor were not affected. He devised a new method and asked God to stay in the parlor. The same occurrence repeated itself and it dawned on him that it was not normal. Something struck him afterward and he decided to let Jesus live freely with Him in the house. He told him: “Jesus, could you please stay in every corner of my house?” I am sure you know His response. He took charge and was on guard. That night, the same set of robbers came visiting but to their surprise, the Lion of the tribe of Judah was on guard. Let me end the story here…
Do you have to wait till you get hurt before you let go and let him? Do you have to learn your lesson the hard way before you allow Him to take total control of your life? Do you know he sees you and is just waiting for a go ahead? Have you ever heard anyone lament of been misled by God? Have you ever imagined how awesome your life will be if only you can let Him in? Do you know you can only find your true definition in Him? Do you know you can only discover your inner awesomeness in Him?
If you fall into the category of those struggling with God and hindering Him from claiming Lordship over their lives, I would like you to let go and let him. He knew you before the foundations of the world and He alone has the manual of your life. I wonder how you can live without him…
The good news is: He sees you! And He is ready to take His rightful place. The bitter truth is not everyone will escape the attack of the “robbers” like that man did. Ensure you do not fall into the category of those that will live to regret their refusal of Him.
Jesus is saying: Child, I see you and I know what you are passing through. Let me in and I would make you great, Matthew 11:28, come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. There are lots of testimonies about this, I would love to add yours to the collection.
God bless you!
