Once upon a time, there was this quaint little village. It was a great place to reside except for one problem: the village was encompassed on the north by indecision, on the west by compromise, on the east by thoughts of the past and on the south by lack of vision. Average life was the aura of the land, norms and ordinariness were their taglines. The villagers were Eagles but they all acted like Pigeons
I believe at this juncture, you will be eager to know where exactly this village is. Don’t get yourself fussed, this world is the village. We grew up in this kind of world where everyone is expected to behave normal and stay cool with every situation they find themselves in. We were trained to fit in for norms, we were taught how to blame others and make them responsible for our shortcomings. This has created an habit in us and we now find ourselves undervaluing what we have, who we are and what we can do and overvaluing what we are not or the situations we are passing through.
I have come to realize that this is the soul poison of many and as a result of this, they are not moving as fast as they should. One of life’s greatest tragedy is the fact that the majority of the world’s population comprises of individuals who have an agreement with mediocrity, signed a contract with an average life and pledged allegiance to being ordinary.
This mediocrity of a thing has made a lot of people die without fulfilling their potentials. This kind of people have no peculiar or outstanding features. They are not extraordinary, special, exceptional, or great, always of medium quality and are often preoccupied with trying to fit in, which has hindered them from standing out.
Someone once told me not to bite more than I can chew, I replied: “I will rather choke on greatness than nibble on mediocrity“. You are designed to be distinct, special and unique. Cease from being normal, go beyond average! Go and dominate! Explore and do exploits!
Your success should not be measured by what you have done or what other people did but by what you can still do. There are potentials in you that are yet to find expression.
Rise above every doubt and prove someone wrong. Do not just aim to be good or better, you can actually be the best!
