Can I meet you?
My name is Temitope Adeogun. I am a Freelance Journalist and an Entrepreneur.
In your own words, describe low self-esteem
Lack of confidence in one’s abilities. When one fails to believe he/she can make things happen.
Do you think timidity and low self-esteem mean the same thing?
No. A timid person can get out of his/her shell when necessary but a person with low self-esteem finds it difficult because of fear of what people will say or think.
What do you think causes low self-esteem?
Upbringing and family background, inferiority complex, bad life experiences, health issues, physical disabilities and lack of love.
Have you ever had low self-esteem?
Really? You never had low self-esteem?
Well, I do not allow things people say get to me. The moment I notice I am feeling bad about something, I snap out of it.
OK then, what are the dangers of low self-esteem?
Depression, jealousy that breeds hatred, loneliness and anger.
Advice those with low self-esteem
Looking down on yourself takes away a lot of wonderful opportunities. So, love yourself and be proud of who you are. Avoid negative thoughts, associate with people you love, focus on your positives. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be frightened, do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Thanks for your time.
