Many at times we think being blessed entails acquiring wealth and material possessions. God has endowed us with diverse gifts and talents and they must be utilized to lift those around us. God placed them in you for a specific purpose and you do not have to be “rich” before you bless those around you. How well have you used these gifts to impact the lives of people around you?
Each and everyone of us has a unique feature that no other person possesses. Someone is actually looking up to you, someone just needs a shoulder to lean on, someone just needs you to give them succour with the words of your mouth. Do not make yourself an instrument of destruction.
You see, everything boils down to love. When we love those around us, we would not find it difficult to reach out to them. We all should compliment each other. Do not withhold that which God has given to you. I pray daily to be a blessing to anyone I come in contact with directly or indirectly. Wealth and material possessions will pass away but that which you have impacted into another man’s life will remain.
Giving words of encouragement would actually go a long way. I have friends I always love to talk to whenever I am down. The fact is I usually do not keep in touch with them but each time I remember I have these great people as friends, I reach out to them, tell them whatever is wrong and I am fine. Now, they actually do not profer solutions to whatever I am passing through but the words that proceed of their mouth just has a way of making me calm and in the midst of this I begin to get ideas on what to do.
Praying for people is another way of being a blessing. I recently learnt that when you pray for other people indirectly your issue is being solved. When you point a finger, the others face you. We should cultivate the habit of interceding for others.
What do you want to be remembered for? Is it how well you dress, how well you speak, the number of degrees you have…?
Learn to show care, help the needy, feed the hungry, be a good listener and above all covet the spirit of love. We all must strive to leave our footprints on the sands of time.
