I found myself in an organization as an intern some years back and my orientation and beliefs about certain issues changed. I realized exposure is necessary for the discovery of one’s potentials. When you get so used to staying in your comfort zone, you would never be propelled to try new things.
My colleagues had a great influence on me, I grabbed the opportunity I had and learnt a lot from them. The funny part of this is I used to think I knew it all. When I met my bosses, I realized I was a “village champion“. This is a lesson, no one knows it all. Humble yourself and be teachable.
Comfort Zone, a psychological state in which things feel familiar to you. You are so much at ease and in control, you feel so safe and do not feel under pressure. You are in your comfort zone when you do not have to do anything new or difficult. You have a routine, people can easily tell what you are doing before they even see you.
People like this watch things happen, they never make things happen… Avoiding challenging situations would never make you tough. “Tough times don’t last but tough people do”. You defeat yourself each time you avoid huge tasks and trust me, you will never develop. What we fail to understand is these challenges prepare us for the next level. Face them! Stop hiding from responsibilities. Life is not a bed of roses!
Develop a new pattern of doing things and make yourself unpredictable. Expand your social circle, of course with sensible people. Stop being lazy, stop procrastinating! Learn to push yourself and above all believe there is nothing you cannot overcome.
