What do you have on the inside? What are those qualities and attributes that sets you apart from others? As much as we are on the face of the earth, we all have unique virtues that makes us different from every other person. These unique features cause you to stand out. Irrespective of our physical appearance, there is something that makes us attractive to God and those around us. Have you discovered your inner awesomeness?
I met a woman few months back and she asked me this question. Since she was an HR person, I began to tell her about my educational background and other qualifications. She smiled and replied I said who are you? For a second, I realised it was a very deep question. Honestly, I had no answer to give that day. I went home confused and disappointed. I could not give a proper answer to that question. In the midst of it all, I said to myself “I must discover who I truly am.”
There’s a popular saying: The most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you discover why. It is disheartening to find a lot of people out there who don’t know the potentials God has deposited in them. Many people even throw in the towel because they feel life is unfair.
Discovering who you are entails a lot of things, you have to accept you for who you are. People often think self-acceptance is accepting failure or giving up. No, it simply means making a deal with yourself that you can change your present situation by identifying how you got into it and preparing to get yourself out of it.
How to discover the real you:
1. Observing yourself is the starting point.
2. Find what you are passionate about.
3. Find what you are good at.
4. Ask for feedback from friends, family…
5. Assess your relationships. Remember the kind of people you associate with matters a lot.
…before I formed thee in the womb I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
